South of City Hall

This aerial footage captures the area south of City Hall, where urban renewal destroyed nearly 80 acres to build a large arena and several smaller auditoriums. The hotel remains, but La Placita Village was demolished and replaced with apartments. The kiosko, or bandshell, remains in its original location and serves as a constant landmark. It is an anchor in a dramatically altered landscape.
